Rule Extraction : Where Do We Go from Here ?
نویسندگان
چکیده
We argue that despite being an actively researched area for nearly a decade, rule-extraction technology has not made as signiicant of an impact as it should have. A connuence of trends, however, has made the ability to extract comprehensible descriptions from complex learned models more important now than ever. We argue that rule-extraction methods can have a signii-cant impact in the overlapping data-mining, machine-learning and neural-network communities if research is focused on several commonly overlooked issues. We then brieey describe how we have tried to address these issues in our own work.

WORK ON EXPERT SYSTEMS hasreceived extensive attention recently, prompting growing interest in a range of environments. Much has been made of the basic concept and of the rule-based system approach typically used to construct the programs. Perhaps this is a good time then to review what we know, assess the current prospects, and suggest directions appropriate for the next steps of basic researc...

Introducing a new hobby for other people may inspire them to join with you. Reading, as one of mutual hobby, is considered as the very easy hobby to do. But, many people are not interested in this hobby. Why? Boring is the reason of why. However, this feel actually can deal with the book and time of you reading. Yeah, one that we will refer to break the boredom in reading is choosing where do i...
متن کاملInteractions among leguminous trees, crops and weeds in a no-till alley cropping system
Trees improve the soil quality and their rapid growth in the tropics make agroforestry systems potentially effective for establishing low-input agricultural systems in this region. This study assessed the effects of the biophysical interactions among leguminous trees, weeds, cotton and maize in an alley cropping system. The experiment comprised six treatments: Clitoria + Gliricidia; Acacia ...

Phytoplankton biomass within the Saginaw Bay ecosystem (Lake Huron, Michigan, USA) was characterized as a function of select physical/chemical indicators. The complexity and variability of ecological systems typically make it difficult to model the influences of anthropogenic stressors and/or natural disturbances. Here, Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) were developed to model chlorophyll a con...
